OUR FOUNDER'S STORY

Meet Shatisha

CEO of Financial Matters, LLC

Shatisha is a Brooklyn native with her bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics. She has always had a passion for Financial Literacy and originally wanted to be a Certified Financial Planner but shortly realized that she didn't want to help just wealthy people. So she started preparing personal income taxes back in 2006 for low-income families and expanded her reach in 2015 when she started hosting Financial Literacy workshops. She volunteered at organizations such as Brooklyn Community Services, the Caribbean Women’s Health Association to teach mentally ill patients and women with HIV how to manage their money.

Through this journey, she formally created Financial Matters LLC. in 2018 which specializes in educating and inspiring individuals to live their best financial life. Shatisha is known for her speaking engagements. individual coaching sessions as well as sharing her personal financial stories and experiences. She has helped individuals with creating budgets, spending plans, saving strategies, credit repair, and recommendations for tackling debt. Shatisha strongly believes that a healthy financial mindset is a key to financial success, so it tells people in matters of money, you matter.

Since launching her business, Shatisha has taught 500+ attendees over 20 financial literacy workshops by partnering with some organizations such as No Rest for Success foundation, Play 2 Purpose, Leaders of the 21st Century, and Spotify.  Those numbers did not include the work she does with women entrepreneurs and helping non-profit organizations think through building sustainable financial capability programs in NY and NJ. Shatisha is an advocate and educator for breaking generational curses and building and staining wealth.
